Garth Crooks sings Trent Alexander-Arnold's praises after latest Liverpool performance

BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has hailed Trent Alexander-Arnold for his display against Arsenal as Liverpool thrashed the Gunners at Anfield.

The Reds put four goals past Mikel Arteta’s side as they showed why it is too early to count them out of the Premier League title race, despite a 3-2 defeat to West Ham before the international break.

It was a five-star performance deserving of three points and gives the lads the momentum and confidence needed to go into the festive fixture list ready to prove they are not just contenders but the best team in the country.

Alexander-Arnold, who signed a £160,000 a week contract in July, earned some special praise from Crooks as he picked up his ninth assist of the season in just 13 games.

“This was another superb display of precision passing from Trent Alexander-Arnold,” Crooks told BBC Sport.

“He produced two assists on this occasion against Arsenal and they will join a long list of assists for the full-back since his arrival on the scene at Anfield.

“The England player has provided Liverpool with an extra dimension. Any set piece around the box presents a major issue for the opposition. The quality of ball is so good it provides a problem for the goalkeeper or the defence and, in most cases, both.”

Nine assists in 13 games is simply fabulous from Trent and highlights just how good he is. There isn’t another full-back in the world that could do what he is doing for Liverpool at the moment.

For all the stick he gets for his defending, the Scouser continues performing at an unprecedented level. He is not only the best attacking full-back at the moment, I don’t think we’ve ever seen one like him in the Premier League before.
