Liverpool are reportedly Barcelona’s ‘main competitor’ and with the Reds “willing to offer him a contract almost irresistible,” they are the favourites.
This comes from Catalonian news outlet, El Nacional, and they report on Dani Olmo’s growing reputation in Europe as the Spanish international continues his rise on the continent.
Xavi, recently appointed as Barcelona’s new manager, is looking to impose his football ideals on the club and Olmo is a player he wants but Liverpool are reportedly a huge fan of the 23-year-old.
While he has only played 122 minutes this season for RB Leipzig, registering a solitary assist, Olmo is on his way back from a torn muscle fibre which forced him to miss 7 games in 37 days.
That said, last season he scored 7 goals and assisted 12 which makes it clear to see why Klopp would be interested.
I’ve been saying it for a while but despite the lack of depth in attack and in midfield, Jurgen Klopp’s side still lacks a player able to change a match or decide a result from a central attacking midfield position.
Chelsea have Mason Mount, United have Bruno Fernandes, Man City have Bernardo Silva but who do Liverpool have? They’ve got Thiago but he’s not an attacking midfielder.
Signing Olmo, who can operate on the left, the right and in an attacking role down the middle, would improve Liverpool hugely.
