Liverpool welcomed Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and James Milner back to training ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League visit to Anfield.
Supporters were sent into a panic this week as news emerged that Hendo and Mane had picked up injuries and were doubtful for the Arsenal clash which is a must-win.
The 3-2 defeat to West Ham means that losing to the Gunners will see them leapfrogged once again and they’ll drop out of the top four which would be a travesty.
However, not only are Henderson and Mane in training and now likely to be in contention for the game but Milner has also returned from his own injury.
Milner and Harvey Elliott are doing isolated work to rehab their injuries but the amazing news is that Mane and Henderson should both be ready to start against Arsenal.
The North Londoners are in good form and will present a much bigger test than they have in recent meetings under Mikel Arteta but a win should help restore Liverpool’s mojo.
While disappointing draws and a defeat to West Ham have sapped the Reds of their momentum, that can all change with wins over Arsenal, Porto and Southampton in their next three matches.
While Mohamed Salah is Liverpool’s shining star, having Mane back to his brilliant best has been key for the Reds this season and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to see the Senegalese forward at his best against Arsenal.
In all competitions, he has scored 8 times but more importantly, his pace and power have returned on the ball, allowing him to breeze past defenders, giving Liverpool what they need on the counter-attack.
While Arsenal have improved in defence, I still don’t think they can contain Mane, who earns £200,000/week, and Salah for 90 minutes if they’re performing at their scintillating best.
