Liverpool want to sign Jude Bellingham, with the midfielder reportedly saying he’s joining the Reds and Roy Keane has waxed lyrical about the teenager.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Craig Hignett told BBC Radio Merseyside that he has been told that Bellingham is going around telling his friends that he’s on his way to Anfield.
After another fine display for England, Keane admitted his surprise at how good the 18-year-old is and remarked on his incredible potential.
Keane said: “We love everything about him. What he’s doing on the pitch. The way he speaks off of it. He’s playing week in, week out for his club. The potential for this kid, it is scary.
“I saw him recently playing for Dortmund in a Champions League game and he was producing passes where I was like I didn’t think he had that in his locker just yet.
“The potential for this kid. He’s a good side, he looks like a boxer. Gareth must be rubbing his hands.”
Liverpool are going to have to go all out to sign Bellingham and while I’m sure there are a lot of fans out there that would prefer to see the Reds sign Erling Haaland from Dortmund, I want Bellingham more.
His potential is so mind-blowing and he wouldn’t demand the wages that his Norwegian teammate would. With Jordan Henderson ageing, someone like Bellingham is going to be needed in a couple of years time to take over from the skipper.
Declan Rice would also be a good shout but the Merseysiders should not skimp on replacing Hendo and Bellingham is the ideal replacement.
