Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino might be on the chopping block if FSG doesn’t renew their contracts soon.
All three will be out of contract in 2023 if they don’t agree new contracts with the Reds.
As things stand, Salah is at a crossroads with Liverpool and his demands are currently not being met. It’s a contract saga that has fans waiting anxiously and one that’s not likely to be resolved anytime soon.
There is currently no news on extensions for Mane and Firmino. The latter is injured while the former has been in fine form this season, improving drastically on his displays from last term when he struggled to do the basics properly.
Emmet Gates told Give Me Sport that Liverpool have to consider selling all three if they don’t sign new contracts as they are all out of contract in a year and seven months.
He said: “Liverpool have a lot of players whose contracts expire in the summer of 2023.
“Sadio Mane is one of them, Firmino is one of them and Salah is one of them, so the front three’s contracts all expire at the same time.
“They have obviously recently renewed Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson and Allison’s contracts. But a couple of players are going to have to either be sold or let go.”
Given his gradual decline over recent seasons, Firmino is the most likely to be sold while Mane’s form could earn him a new deal although it’s unclear whether an agreement will be met with Salah and his agent.
