Liverpool may be without Sadio Mane and Jordan Henderson against Arsenal after they returned to Merseyside for further analysis of their respective injuries.
Last time out in the Premier League, the Reds lost 3-2 to West Ham and are now faced with the challenge of returning to the top of the table from four points behind.
It’s not an insurmountable task but Chelsea’s form this season has been very good and they are spotless defensively despite the fact that they were held to a 1-1 draw by Sean Dyche’s Burnley.
Sadio Mane and Jordan Henderson are currently doubts to face Arsenal and so Jurgen Klopp will already thinking of ways to set his side up without the injured duo.
Fortunately, Fabinho and Thiago are back in the side after returning from injuries of their own so Jurgen Klopp isn’t too shorthanded in midfield but with Roberto Firmino injured as well, the German may have to start Divock Origi as his no.9 and deploy Diogo Jota on the left flank.
The Belgian has been in good form recently, scoring twice in his last two appearances so bringing him into the side might not necessarily see a decrease in the side’s ability to score.
That said, he’s not as good at pressing compared to Mane but his finishing is fantastic as he showed with a fantastic strike against West Ham, receiving the ball with his back to goal before swivelling and striking the ball into the bottom corner.
Hopefully, Mane and Hendo are fit to face Arsenal but if they’re not, Klopp needs to find a way to get Liverpool back to winning ways.
Potential starting XI: Alisson, Robbo, van Dijk, Matip, Trent, Fabinho, Thiago, Chamberlain, Jota, Origi, Salah.
