Liverpool reportedly want Alexander Isak and are ready to offer £34m

Liverpool are reportedly ready to offer £34m (€40m) for Real Sociedad forward Alexander Isak.

With Jurgen Klopp’s side struggling in the Premier League despite recent 5-0 wins over Watford and Manchester United, there is concern over what will happen in January.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita are set to take part in AFCON, so signing a new forward to improve the club’s attacking depth would be ideal.

According to El Nacional, Isak is considered as a player that “seems to fit like a glove in the schemes” of Jurgen Klopp, with the Swedish forward described as “fast, agile” and possessing “very good technical quality.”

Despite standing at 1.92m (6ft3), Isak is a fantastic dribbler and works very hard to win the ball back from the very front, which is obviously a trait that Klopp looks for in his centre forwards.

Just 22, Isak could be the subject of a bid from Liverpool, with the report claiming that the Reds are “considering the possibility of submitting a firm offer for Isak, which would reach €40million” (£34m).

My Revenge On Ben Foster

He scored 17 goals last season, attracting a lot of attention with his displays in La Liga and at the EUROs for Sweden and this term, he scored six goals and got one assist in a seven-game spell.

El Nacional does state that there is no way of telling whether or not a bid worth €40m (£34m) would be accepted by Sociedad. My guess is that, with his contract running until 2026, it is unlikely they would let him go for such a low offer.

Isak would be a sensational player under Klopp and I think he’d actually be very well suited to the Premier League, with his frame and combative style perfect for England’s top division.
