Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has highlighted Liverpool sensation Sadio Mane for praise during a Q&A session on his Twitter page last night.
Rashford, 22, was asked who he considered to be the best African footballer to have played in the Premier League, to which he name-checked Senagalese ace, Mane.
The 28-year-old has clocked up a whopping 220 appearances with Liverpool and Southampton respectfully. During that period he has scored 91 goals while registering 40 assists.
Mane, who given his breathtakingly high standards, has suffered from a noticeable dip throughout 2020/21. Despite being one of Jurgen Klopp’s most durable assets this term, Mane has underperformed.
Still, his statistical output makes for impressive reading with the former RB Salzburg starlet amassing 12 goals and six assists in 37 games – only Mohamed Salah has more.

Mane, though, still remains an integral asset to Jurgen Klopp. He recently provided the match-winning assist during Liverpool’s most recent outing against Wolves.
Before that, too, Mane was on the scoresheet against RB Leipzig in the Champions League. Also, he is the only Liverpool player to have scored against Real Madrid since 2009, who Klopp awaits in the quarter-finals next week.
Let’s hope Mane, who earns £100,000-a-week according to Spotrac, will rediscover his goalscoring touch against the team who crushed Liverpool hearts in Kiev just under three years ago.
With a top-four finish still in reach and a shot at European Cup No.7 still alive, Mane will have a huge say in whether Liverpool are to miraculously turn this relentless and merciless campaign into a surprising success.
