It’s no secret that Liverpool have been touted with an active interest in Sheffield United midfielder, Sander Berge, for quite some time now. In fact, reports from Belgium indicate that Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the Norwegian starlet.
This comes from Voetball24. They claim that Klopp ‘is absolutely convinced’ by Berge’s talent and believe he’d make a fine addition at Anfield.
Klopp convinced by Berge’s quality
Liverpool have been scouring the market for a potential Gini Wijnaldum replacement, according to reports. The Athletic recently highlighted both Berge and Brighton’s Yves Bissouma as realistic targets.
Also, much of Liverpool’s attraction towards Berge has intensified as a result of a cut-price fee that could be secured once Sheffield United’s impending relegation from the Premier League is mathematically confirmed.
The reports from Belgium also credit Aston Villa as a potential suitor, while Arsenal and Spurs have previously showcased interest.

Indeed, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the 24-time Norway international, although the prospect of linking up with the English champions next term is difficult to ignore.
What RTK has to say
Berge has witnessed the power of Anfield first-hand following his Champions League encounter against the Reds while he was a player at Genk last season.
There are obvious parallels with the Wijnaldum deal, too. Liverpool, after all, signed the Dutchman from a relegated team and would do the same with Berge.
So, Liverpool could have a similar yet younger talent to work with, who also has European experience.
Klopp worked wonders on Wijnaldum, of course, and we really think he could do the same with Berge.
Put him alongside the likes of Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho and it’s only a matter of time before he becomes a top player.
There is so much untapped potential in Berge. Liverpool and Klopp, then, could be the perfect combination to take his game to the next level.
