The 26-year-old was seen getting clattered into during a Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mali on Wednesday.
Despite Keita helping his team towards a vital 1-0 win, the footage of the first-half incident dominated headlines, after the referee was forced to intervene to stop a potential brawl from breaking out.
Keita, who only recently returned from an ankle injury, was unsurprisingly agitated by the incident, having already spent much of this season out on the sidelines.
The £48 million signing from RB Leipzig has endured another stop-start season at Anfield due to injury. Keita has just seven Premier League starts this term, after all, while he’s only started in the Champions League on one occasion.

Liverpool were initially reluctant to allow Keita to travel due to UK Government restrictions on travel. However, Guinea manager Didier Six has said he had to negotiate with the Reds in order to secure Keita for his upcoming fixtures.
We can hardly blame him, either, given the fact we are three seasons into Keita’s tenure at Anfield and he is still yet to hold down a place in the team.
At 26, Keita should be closing in on his peak, meaning Liverpool have to manage him carefully if they are to get full value out of the club’s third all-time recorf signing.
It must be infuriating, then, for Klopp and supporters to have seen the events that transpired yesterday. Given his track record with injury, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Keita returned to Merseyside with a fresh setback.
For now, all we can do is hope that isn’t the case.
