Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been identified as one of the world’s top-six players, according to former Real Madrid and Barcelona icon, Luis Figo.
Figo, who won the Ballon d’Or back in 2001, is one of the greatest players of his generation and is well-placed to know what it takes to define yourself as a world class performer.
During a live Q&A session with Madrid, the former Portugal captain was tasked with naming his top five players currently in club football.
However, given the array of world class talent currently on display for all to see, Figo could only cut down his shortlist to six elite-level performers.
Figo hails Liverpool’s Salah
Amongst them, was Premier League top scorer, Salah, who has carried the goalscoring mantle at Anfield for large periods of Liverpool’s disappointing 2020/21 campaign.

Figo said, per Los Blancos Live: “Cristiano, Messi, Modric, Salah, Mbappe and Neymar.”
Salah was picked out by Figo ahead of the likes of Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, as well as Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.
The former Roma man has now scored at least 20 goals in his previous four seasons in England’s top-flight – a quite extraordinary feat.
It is quite the impressive record for a player who was cited as a one-season wonder following his record-breaking 44-goal debut campaign at Anfield.
He is on course to claim his third Premier League Golden Boot, too.
