EuroSport reported back in November that Liverpool officials were confident that Haaland would be Jurgen Klopp’s next major Anfield addition.

However, Liverpool are far from alone in their pursuit of the Norwegian sensation, who is wanted by practically every major footballing heavyweight across the continent.

He sent out a message on Monday afternoon, which was quite vague in terms of what it represented. Still, this is Haaland we are talking about and unsurprisingly, his tweet attracted a lot of attention from Liverpool supporters.

Haaland, who was recently crowned the 2020 Golden Boy, has a release clause at Dortmund which doesn’t come into effect until 2022.

With that said, it’s likely that any attempts to sign Haaland this summer could see Dortmund command an asking price in the upward region of £150 million.

Despite the eye-watering sum of money to land the former RB Salzburg starlet, many supporters believe Haaland is the perfect player for Liverpool to submit an unprecedented nine-figure transfer sum to bring him to Anfield.

A number of Kopites were quick to respond to his message to let him know how welcome he will be at the home of the reigning Premier League champions.

There is no doubt that Klopp would welcome the addition of the free-scoring striker this summer.

However, there are fears that Liverpool may not be prepared to battle some of Europe’s notorious heavy spenders in a frenetic bidding war, namely Manchester City.

While Haaland is undoubtedly one of the most coveted players on the market, and there clearly is an appetite for his talents to be utilised at Anfield.

At this early stage of the process, supporters can dream, and that is exactly what they are doing.
