Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus is keen on securing a transfer to Liverpool this summer, according to reports. The Germany international has been tracked by the Reds for some time now.
This comes from Christian Falk of BILD. He claims that both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have distanced themselves from securing a potential deal, opening the door for Neuhaus to secure a move to Anfield.
A talent to be reckoned with
Neuhaus, 23, has been in stunning form this season under the tutelage of Marco Rose. The German-born midfielder, who has been capped three times for his country, has clocked up 31 appearances in all competitions this term – having a hand in 12 goals.
His most recent display came against Manchester City on Wednesday. Despite a 2-0 defeat, Neuhaus certainly enjoyed an impressive performance from a statistical outlook.
He made seven tackles in total, more than any Liverpool player managed in their tie with against Pep Guardiola’s side a few weeks ago.

Neuhaus recently had his own say on the rumours that have been circulating about his immediate future in the Bundesliga. It’s fair to say, that the former Dusseldorf star has kept the door slightly ajar over a summer move.
“I have a contract until 2024 and I have very big goals for this season,” Neuhaus said. “That’s what I’m concentrating on now. [Transfer talk] is really not a big issue for me now. I play at Borussia, I have a contract.
“I can’t say what will happen in the summer at the moment. I’m also very relaxed about the future. Borussia is a club where I was able to develop excellently and where everything is there. I know what I have with Borussia.”
What RTK has to say – Why Neuhaus to Liverpool makes sense
To continuously deliver the calibre of performances Neuhaus has maintained at Gladbach this season is impressive, especially at just 23 years of age, too.
There is no doubt, then, that the best years of his career are directly ahead of him. His style of play, after all, certainly suits the Premier League.
Also with the likely departure of Gini Wijnaldum this summer, there will already be a vacated position at Anfield should Neuhaus indeed secure the move he reportedly favours in the coming months.
Goal report that he has a modest £35 million release clause in his current Gladbach deal. With that said, given the long-term value Neuhaus could provide Liverpool in the coming years, it certainly seems like a no-brainer from the Reds’ position.
