Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter after reports emerged that Jordan Henderson could have an extended injury lay-off longer than the original six weeks prognosis, according to reports.
This comes from The Athletic. Initial reports indicated that the Reds’ irreplaceable club-captain could be out for just over a month, but this is now considered a ‘best case scenario’.
While the extent of Henderson’s injury is yet to be fully assessed, Liverpool staff are beginning to fear the worst.
Anfield club staff have grown concerned that the England international could be sidelined even longer, as Henderson becomes the latest high-profile Liverpool figure to have been blighted by injury this season.
Henderson, 30, has been forced to cover at centre-back in recent weeks, with the skipper still yet to play in his natural midfield role since the turn of the New Year.

And as a result, Klopp will now have to choose between Ozan Kabak, Ben Davies and Nat Phillips at centre-back ahead of Sunday’s clash with Sheffield United.
Fabinho could provide Klopp with alternate cover ahead of his proposed return from a muscle injury. However, the Brazilian perhaps offers too much in midfield to again risk utilising him in an unnatural role.
What RTK has to say
So, it seems that everything that could have possibly gone wrong for Liverpool this season has gone wrong.
Remarkably, only Andy Robertson, Sadio Mane, Gini Wijnaldum, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah have spent less than three weeks on the Liverpool treatment table this season.
Liverpool, too, have already lost Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip to season-ending injuries in 2020/21.
And now Liverpool have been forced to cope without their inspirational talisman, as well.
This, then, suddenly makes the task of securing a top-four finish in the Premier League for Liverpool all the more difficult.
