Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter after reports emerged that Diogo Jota is set to return to first-team training this week.
This comes from The Mail. They say the Portuguese international is hoping to rejoin his teammates for the first time on Wednesday.
Jota, 24, has been out of action since December 9 after he suffered a knee injury towards the end of the Champions League dead rubber at FC Midtjylland.
While surgery wasn’t required, the £41 million signing from Wolves spent extensive periods of his rehabilitation with his knee in a brace, before he returned to the club’s AXA Training Centre earlier this month.
Indeed, his imminent return could see Liverpool’s upcoming clash against Sheffield United on Sunday as too early a return date for Jota. Still, the former Atletico Madrid forward’s timely return is a major boost, amid a four-match consecutive losing run for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

A more likely return for Liverpool’s No.20 would be the following game against Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea on March 4.
Liverpool have only won six of the 17 matches in Jota’s absence, after all, a run which has left them 19 points behind league leaders Manchester City.
