Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to a photo of Diogo Jota out on the training pitches at the club’s AXA Training Centre in Kirkby.
Admittedly, the picture was taken 18 days ago, and while there is nothing that stands out about the photo, a number of supporters feel it fairly reflects what has been missing for Liverpool in recent weeks.
How do we mean?
Well, in Diogo Jota’s absence, Liverpool have won just four of their previous 14 league matches.
The Reds have scored just 19 goals in that period, too, with seven of them occurring in that pre-Christmas humbling at Selhurst Park.

In stark, stark contrast, with Jota available at Jurgen Klopp’s disposal, Liverpool were top of the Premier League table, having scored 26 times in 11 games.
So, it’s clear to see, then, that in Jota’s absence Liverpool have struggled, especially from an attacking sense.
Still, no-one expected such a drop-off in quality following the Portuguese international’s absence, nor is this to say that Jota’s injury is the sole reason for Liverpool’s recent wretched form.
Having said that, the 24-year-old did cover over the cracks with important goals against West Ham, Sheffield United and Brighton prior to his knee injury.
“Diogo [will be] two or three weeks, maybe,” was Klopp’s most recent assessment of Jota’s progress on February 12.
The £45 million [BBC] signing from Wolves was pictured back in action for the first time earlier this month, although he is still yet to resume full training with his teammates.
