Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford have officially sent their condolences to the family and friends of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Liverpool boss paid tribute to his mother Elisabeth after her recent death at the age of 81.
Klopp was unable to attend the funeral in person on Tuesday due to the restrictions currently in place in Germany as a result of the pandemic.
“She meant everything to me,” he said. “She was a real mum in the best sense of the word.
“As a devout Christian, I know she is in a better place now.”
Elisabeth was married to Klopp’s father, Norbert, in 1960 and the pair had three children: Stefanie, Isolde and Jurgen.
Norbert passed away in 2000 at the age of 66 after a short illness.
Sterling of Manchester City and Rashford of Manchester United recently took to Twitter to send a message of support to Klopp and his family.
Liverpool, too, used their Twitter platform to stand united alongside their inspirational manager. The club wrote: “You’ll Never Walk Alone, Jürgen.”
Tributes continue to pour out with a number of clubs uniting alongside Jürgen during this difficult period.
Everyone at Rousing the Kop sends their condolences to Klopp, as well as his family and friends.
