Liverpool will look to bounce back from successive home defeats when they travel to Leicester City on Saturday.
A win for Jurgen Klopp and his team would see them leapfrog Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes into third, which would strengthen Liverpool’s chances of a Champions League finish.
Having been granted Tuesday off, Liverpool’s first-team stars were back at Kirkby the following day as preparations for the weekend continue to ramp up.
One major worry for supporters, however, was the absence of midfield duo Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho at the club’s AXA Training Centre, per The ECHO.
Thiago, 29, was substituted during Sunday’s 4-1 defeat against Manchester City, although it didn’t appear to be injury-related.

Meanwhile, Fabinho, 27, only recently made his return to fitness following a two-week lay-off with a minor muscle issue.
Gini Wijnaldum, too, was another concern for fans after pictures were released of the Dutchman training away from the rest of the first-team squad.
The 30-year-old, who hasn’t missed a single Premier League appearance all season, was spotted doing individual fitness work.
Jota and Keita still absent
While there were a few noticeable absentees from training, there didn’t appear to be any returning faces, either.
Both Diogo Jota and Naby Keita still remain a little way off being in-contention with a full return to the first team.
Jota, 24, was pictured at the club’s training ground last Wednesday for the first time since he suffered a knee injury on December 9.
Klopp indicated that the Portuguese forward still faces a couple more weeks on the sidelines before his overdue return is sanctioned.
Keita, though, continues to remain an elusive prospect. The Guinean midfielder has been totally out of action since the pre-Christmas 7-0 victory at Selhurst Park.
Let’s see what the Anfield faithful had to say regarding reports that a number of Klopp’s key personnel were absent from Wednesday’s session.
