Fabinho, who was lauded as Liverpool’s Player of the Season so far by Andy Robertson, looks set to return to action ahead of Sunday’s gargantuan encounter against Manchester City.
Triple injury boost for Klopp
With Jurgen Klopp dealt a number of agonising setbacks this term in the form of season-ending injuries to his three first-choice centre-backs, Fabinho has been forced to take-up defensive duties for the majority of 2020/21.
However, the Brazilian has missed Liverpool’s previous three matches, as a result of a muscle complaint in the aftermath of the 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford last month.
The 27-year-old, though, is expected to make a swift return against Pep Guardiola’s league leaders on Sunday.

Liverpool currently trail City in the league standings by seven points, despite having played a game more. It isn’t to an overstatement to say that the Reds’ diminishing title aspirations hinge on getting a result tomorrow afternoon.
Luckily, Jurgen Klopp was handed a timely injury boost with Sadio Mane and Alisson Becker also returning to full-fitness.
Mane, 28, was another Liverpool all-star recently on the sidelines following a muscle issue. The Senegalese ace missed recent matches against West Ham and Brighton.
Meanwhile, Alisson, 28, was also back at the club’s training ground in Kirkby, having missed the midweek defeat to Brighton due to illness.
All three players, then, could be expected to make timely returns as Liverpool look to get their season back on track with an overdue Anfield win.
