Liverpool fans have reacted to Ben White’s tweet in the aftermath of Brighton’s deserved 1-0 victory at Anfield on Wednesday night.
It represents the Reds’ second successive league home defeat, which has left Jurgen Klopp and his players seven points off leaders Manchester City, having played a game more.
And in truth, Liverpool were terrible, fully deserving of their fourth league defeat of the season.
Perhaps the only shock on the night was that this was no shock at all.
Liverpool’s aura of invincibility has been diminished. Having lost just four league defeats in two full seasons, the Reds have been defeated the same number of times this term just 22 games in.

If there was a silver lining for supporters, at least two of the club’s reported transfer targets showcased their qualities. One of which was 23-year-old White.
Liverpool interested in White
According to The ECHO, White has been listed as a long-term target, with views to sign the versatile Brighton defender in the summer.
The Reds regularly monitored White’s development in the Championship last term during a season-long loan period with Leeds United.
Liverpool were well aware of the interest in the versatile defender before he signed a new contract at the Amex Stadium back in September.
His new deal with Brighton is due to expire in 2024, as per transfermarkt.
White’s performance at the home of the English champions typified why Graham Potter fought tooth-and-nail to keep him last summer. The former Newport County star was outstanding.
In total, he made three interceptions – the joint highest on the pitch – as well as one clearance to help the Seagulls record their fourth consecutive Premier League clean sheet.
Considering he plays in defence, too, White showed a willingness to get on the ball and make things happen in the final third – this will certainly impress Liverpool.
Unsurprisingly, White has got a selection of Liverpool supporters talking as he continues to go from strength-to-strength in his inaugural campaign in English top-flight football.
Let’s see what the Anfield faithful had to say on the impressive Brighton starlet…
