Former Liverpool star Steven Caulker has posted an amusing message on Instagram in regards to his very-brief tenure at Anfield.
Caulker, 29, was with Jurgen Klopp and the Reds for a minor period during the 2015/16 season, where he clocked up four appearences.
The former Southampton defender was signed for emergency cover, similar to the situation Klopp currently finds himself in now, following injuries to the likes of Dejan Lovren, Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure.
Caulker, now with Turkish outfit Alanyaspor, has clocked up 20 appearences across all competitions this season where he has scored three goals and recorded one assist.
Remarkably, the one-capped former England international is best remembered on Merseyside for his make-shift efforts as a striker. Caulker made cameo appearances as a front-man against the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Norwich.
His only ever start for Liverpool came during an FA Cup defeat to West Ham almost five years to the day in January 2016.
Reflecting on his brief spell with Klopp and Liverpool, Caulker posted an image of himself on Instagram, along with a funny caption that Kopites will appreciate.
“Klopp knew what I was about… #Number9,” wrote Caulker, as he entertained fans with a picture back to his Anfield playing days.
His post comes at a period where Liverpool are desperately struggling for goals.
The English champions have failed to score in any of their previous three league games and have taken just three points from an available 12 in recent weeks.
Klopp and his team will home to put that right against Burnley on Thursday evening. A win is a must if Liverpool are to maintain pressure at the top on the likes of Leicester City, Manchester United and Manchester City.
