Serge Gnabry has lauded Bayern Munich teammate Jamal Musiala as an amazing talent, amid reported interest from Liverpool.
Such claims come from The Mail. They believe Jurgen Klopp to be an admirer of the teenage attacking midfielder.
At 17, Musiala is among European football’s most exciting talents with some of the continent’s biggest teams mooted with a viable interest in the teenage wonderkid.
Another generational talent?
Born in Stuttgart, yet raised in London, Musiala is currently weighing up his options in regards to his long-term future.
Liverpool manager, Klopp, has already made his admirations known and with Musiala yet to extend his contract at Bayern, the English champions have been touted with an ambitious raid on the German champions’ most prized-asset.
Unsurprisingly, Bayern aren’t prepared to surrender so easily. According to The Mail, Musiala, who celebrates his 18th birthday next month, could be offered a £100,000-a-week contract.
Such a deal would make him one of the highest-paid teenage earners in world football.
Musiala’s teammate and former Arsenal star Gnabry has weighed in on the possibility of Bayern parting company with the in-demand two-time England U21 international.
“Ain’t no chance we’re letting that talent go!” said Gnabry. “He’s a great, great player.
“The first couple of times he showed up in training we already knew he was going to be a superb player.
“His talent is amazing. He isn’t shy of anything. He has a lot of time on his hands and I hope he will continue to grow, and use his talents for Germany instead of England – to my benefit!”
What RTK has to say
It’s easy to see why Liverpool and Klopp are among the interested parties to sign Musiala.
At just 17-years-old, he is already an established first-team member at Bayern under Champions League-winning head coach Hansi Flick.
His versatility across the forward line makes him a valuable asset, too. Typically, an out-and-out attacking midfielder, Musiala can also operate on the left-wing as well as in central midfield.
This could be useful to Klopp given the likes of Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara and Georginio Wijnaldum will all be 30 come to the start of next season.
As such, signing Musiala would represent the acquisition of a long-term midfield alternative who can cover in a variety of positions for Liverpool.
He also has a natural ability in front of goal, too. Musiala has found the net three times in 11 Bundesliga appearances this season.
Given his contractual situation and young age, it’s easy to see why Liverpool have registered a reported interest in Musiala.
The Reds have a favourable with young talent in recent years, after all. Just ask the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones and Rhys Williams.
