RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has confirmed that the club are prepared to sell Dayot Upamecano for the right price – and Liverpool supporters have reacted on Twitter.
Upamecano, 22, has been mooted as a potential interest of Liverpool, who are in desperate need of a centre-back. A report from Goal claims that Leipzig are willing to sell their star defender if a realistic offer comes in.
Jurgen Klopp has previously revealed that Liverpool are unlikely to dip into the market in January, despite long-term injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
As a result, it seems, then, that any potential interest from Liverpool in Upamecano will have to wait until the summer window.
Still, the suggestion that Leipzig are willing to discuss the possibility of a transfer is certainly good news for Liverpool. Upamecano is arguably the best centre-back currently on the market, after all.

In terms of a fee, it has been reported by Goal that Upamecano, a three time France international, has a release clause of £39 million that will become active in the summer.
His current contract at Leipzig is due to expire in 2023. Manchester United also share an interest in the former Salzburg defender.
Liverpool fans react to Upamecano reports
With that said, it seems as if Liverpool supporters share a similar sense of optimism regarding the possibility of landing Upamecano in the summer.
