Liverpool have progressed into the fourth round of the FA Cup. The Reds beat Aston Villa 4-1 in a far from routine victory. Sadio Mane, Gini Wijnaldum and Mohamed Salah were all on the scoresheet.
Here are our player Liverpool ratings v Aston Villa:
Caoimhín Kelleher – 6
Was left totally exposed for the equaliser. Rather quiet night, otherwise.
Neco Williams – 7

Looked to cause problems down the right flank. He provided most of Liverpool’s attacking thrust, particularly in the first half.
Rhys Williams – 5
Was outpaced and left for dead by the impressive Louie Barry for Villa’s only goal of the night. Was far from an ideal audition from the 19-year-old.
Fabinho – 6
Caught in possession on one occasion in a dangerous area. Despite playing in defence, was one of Liverpool’s most effective players going forward.
James Milner – 6
Tried to cause problems down the left. His end product lacked cutting-edge, however.
Jordan Henderson – 5
Considering his usual high standards, Henderson will be disappointed with his overall performance. Did create two chances for his team, on the other hand.
Gini Wijnaldum – 7
Was one of Liverpool’s main attacking threats. Wasn’t productive enough in the first-half. Much better in the second, took his goal with aplomb.
Curtis Jones – 6
Crossed for the opener. Otherwise, had a quiet evening. Booked.
Sadio Mane – 7
Headed the opener. Also, was the only Liverpool player near the required standard in the first half. Scored again in the second period.
Takumi Minamino – 5
Could barely have been less involved in the first half. Grew as the game went on, but it still felt like a missed opportunity.
Mohamed Salah – 6
Ambitious with his shooting and had a number of efforts beaten away in the first half. Finally, got on the scoresheet in the second.
