With the returns of Thiago Alcantara, James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri confirmed, Jurgen Klopp couldn’t have asked for a better early Christmas gift.
It’s a boost that dramatically increases the Reds’ title aspirations. For the first time this season, Klopp has all of his midfield options made available to him.
Liverpool finally welcomed Thiago, Milner and Shaqiri back to the first-team set-up on Wednesday at the club’s AXA Training Centre. That’s huge news – none of them have played in weeks.
Alongside Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum, Curtis Jones, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Klopp is finally fully stocked in the midfield department.
It immediately makes the prospect of regular rotation much easier given the number of options the manager has to play around with.

Even in the domestic cups, Liverpool have enough bodies to compete on all fronts this season.
More importantly than the quantity made available to Klopp is the quality. Liverpool, effectivley have eight players who could walk into any Premier League set-up, yet only three can make the manager’s starting XI.
It’s certainly a welcomed selection headache from the manager’s behalf.
In 2021, Liverpool will be competing on three separate fronts, and the manager could effectively have three completely alternate midfield systems for each competition – such is the array of talent at the manager’s disposal.
Sky’s the limit
It finally gives the manager the strength in depth to regularly rotate without any risk of a drop off in quality.
Winning both the Premier League and the Champions League is seriously on the cards for a squad so deep in quality as this.
It’s more than just a possibility and supporters should be confident and optimistic that it could indeed become a beaming reality.
When everyone is fit, this is by far the deepest Liverpool squad in a very, very long time.
In fact, probably ever, given the number of world class players also added to the mix.
Hopefully, Liverpool’s most recent triple fitness boost is the latest indicator that the Reds are about to flex their muscles to a whole other level.
