Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo has insisted that he is not surprised by how well former player Diogo Jota has taken to life at Liverpool, as per comments he made to Stadium Astro.
Liverpool signed Jota from Molineux last summer in a deal worth £41 million [BBC], and the Portugal international has been a sensation since switching the Midlands for Merseyside.
Jota, 24, has scored a whopping nine goals in his first 17 Liverpool appearances, and has already threatened to alter the dynamic of the club’s pedigreed front-three.
No-one expected the former Atletico Madrid prodigy to have made such an immediate impact at the home of the English champions.
But Nuno, insists that he was confident Jota was always going to be a success at Anfield.

“No, not surprised at all,” he said, when asked if Jota’s form had surprised him.
“The quality and the talent and the dedication that Diogo has is amazing.
“I’m pleased he’s having an impact on Liverpool. I think he’s in the right place at the right moment of his career, I wish him all the best.”
Jota injury latest
According to The Echo, Liverpool are hoping to have Jota back to full fitness as early as February of next year.
The Portuguese forward is currently nursing a knee injury he sustained during the 1-1 draw with FC Midtjylland earlier this month.
He has since missed Premier League matches against the likes of Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace.
Jota is the latest in a long line of injury issues for Liverpool in 2020/21.
The likes of Kostas Tsimikas – who also picked up a knock in the game against FC Midtjylland – Thiago Alcantara, James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri all remain sidelined while Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk continue to go through the rehabilitation process having both undergone knee surgery.
On a more positive note, the likes of Thiago, Milner and Shaqiri have all made positive strides in their road to recovery and are all expected to return in the imminent future.
