For Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s latest training session will have certainly had the Reds boss in the Christmas spirit after three returning faces were spotted at Kirkby on Wednesday.
Liverpool were handed a triple fitness boost after Thiago Alcantara, James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri were all spotted at the club’s AXA Training Centre.
Thiago, 29, was seen kicking a ball for the first time since October 17 as he looks to prove his fitness ahead of Liverpool’s clash with West Brom on Sunday.
The Spanish international has been out of action for the best part of two months following a horror-challenge from Richarlison during the 2-2 draw with Everton at Goodison Park.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Thiago was expected to return to the first-team set up in the coming weeks, and the pair were pictured together sharing a warm embrace as his £25 million signing from Bayern Munich finally joined his teammates for training.

It is unclear whether he was able to participate in the main session or if he just took part in the warm-up, but if he was able to train with his teammates and again so on Christmas day, it could see Thiago in contention for his Anfield debut against West Brom on Sunday.
James Milner was also spotted back in full training, having recovered from a hamstring injury sustained during the 1-1 draw with Brighton last month.
The 34-year-old was joined by Xherdan Shaqiri, who hasn’t featured for Liverpool since the 1-1 stalemate with title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on November 7.
Both were spotted being put through their paces on the training pitch looking to give Klopp more selection options for the weekend.
