Layton Stewart’s rich vein of goalscoring form continued for Liverpool’s under-18 team today as the young Reds put Leeds United to the sword in a comfortable 5-0 victory – and a number of supporters have reacted on Twitter to the teenage goal-machine.
Stewart, 18, raked in his 11th goal of the season as Liverpool moved to the top of the U18s Premier League table following Marc Bridge Wilkinson’s sixth league win of the season.
Summer signings Mateusz Musialowski and Melkamu Frauendorf were also on the scoresheet while Isaac Mabaya and Oakley Cannonier came off the bench to round off the goals in a comprehensive victory back at Melwood.
Stewart now has nine goals in seven league matches for the U18s which included two hat-tricks against Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers.
Liverpool were brilliant from start-to-finish and had total control against a Leeds outfit that sit second from bottom with just four points taken from their opening seven matches.

Stewart continues to showcase his quality on a game-by-game basis – scoring in each of Liverpool’s previous three U18s matches.
His sustained brilliance surely means it will only be a matter of time before the teenage sensation is called up to Barry Lewtas’ U23s set-up.
Paul Glatzel, Liam Millar and Joe Hardy are among Lewtas’ best attacking starlets but Stewart’s recent performances are becoming difficult to ignore and could warrant a call-up in the near future.
The teenager has been previously compared to Fernando Torres due to his instinctive ability and frightening turn of pace.
Needless to say, Liverpool supporters share the same belief that Stewart should be handed more opportunities at a higher level given his ridiculous consistency in front of goal.
A number of Reds supporters took to Twitter to laud the outstanding Stewart who at this present moment, cannot stop scoring
