Oxlade-Chamberlain, 27, has been absent since July he sustained a knee injury during Liverool’s pre-season training camp in Austria.

The former Arsenal star was last in competitive action for Liverpool on the final day of the 2019/20 season when he grabbed an assist in a 3-1 victory over Newcastle on July 26.

He has since missed all eight of Liverpool’s Premier League matches this season as well as three Champions League Group Stage fixtures.

However, the England international appears to be closing in on a return to action after he was pictured polishing his technique in training.

As Oxlade-Chamberlain edges nearer to full fitness, the former Southampton academy graduate took to Instagram to offer Liverpool supporters a glimpse into his current conditioning.

In the midst of an injury crisis that could see Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez potentially out for the remainder of the season, Oxlade-Chamberlain’s return will be a welcomed one from Jurgen Klopp’s perspective.

Liverpool have also been without midfield duo Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara in recent weeks while Jordan Henderson was recently ruled out of the Leicester City clash on Sunday as a result of a groin injury.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Liverpool teammate, Kostas Tsimikas was quick to reply to the Reds’ No.15 Instagram and the Greek international was clearly encouraged to see his fellow professional back on the training pitch.

Hopefully, Oxlade-Chamberlain’s return to action can help bolster Klopp’s options and ensure Liverpool stay on track in their Premier League title defence and that they do not lose momentum heading into a crucial part of the season.
