Marko Grujic has been pictured playing with new loan club FC Porto for the first time.

After making just two appearances in the Carabao Cup for Liverpool this season, Grujic felt that a loan move was his best option to get his career back on track.

He signed with the Portuguese champions on loan for the season shortly before the transfer deadline.

Having been overlooked during Porto’s previous three matches, the Serbian international was finally given his opportunity during a Champions League match with Olympiacos.

Grujic, 24, came off the bench last night during a 2-0 victory over the Greek champions to get Porto’s European campaign back on track following last week’s defeat to Manchester City.

The Liverpool loanee will hope that his inaugural bout with his new club side will lead to more opportunities in the first team. On Saturday, Porto take on Paços Ferreira before another Champions League clash with Marseille days later.

It’s uncertain if Grujic figures to start in either of these games, but if he does get an early opportunity, they are great games to make an early impression.

Porto have enjoyed a slow start to the season by their own high standards with Sérgio Conceição’s team currently trailing Benfica by five points in the league table after just five matches into the 2020/21 campaign.

Grujic started in both of Liverpool’s League Cup matches this season against Lincoln and Arsenal prior to his loan move. He spent the previous two seasons on loan in the Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin.

This loan potentially provides a larger platform for Jurgen Klopp’s first-ever Liverpool signing to show what he is capable of.
