Liverpool make the short trip to Goodison Park still licking their wounds following the 7-2 defeat to Aston Villa prior to the international break. The Premier League champions will be hoping for an emphatic response.

Jurgen Klopp’s team face an Everton side who are top of the league and have made a 100 per cent start to the season. It is set up to be quite the encounter.

The Reds are unbeaten in this fixture exactly 10 years to the day with their most recent defeat against the Blues occurring in October 2010 during FSG’s inaugural match as new owners in which Liverpool lost 2-0 – it’s fair to say we’ve come a long way since then.

A win for Liverpool will see them move joint top with Everton on 12 points while a defeat would ensure the champions fall six points behind their fierce rivals.
