Liverpool midfielder Tom Hill has committed his long-term future to the club having put pen-to-paper on a new contract with the Reds.

The Academy graduate has been awarded with a new bumper deal just a day after his 18th birthday which enabled the teenager to sign fresh terms on the preexisting professional contract he signed back in February.

The 2019/20 campaign proved to be a season to remember for Hill following on from his under-18’s debut back in August 2019. The Liverpool youngster then quickly progressed into Jurgen Klopp’s senior set-up and even made his debut for the first-team during the Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Aston Villa.

Hill has been with the academy since the age of six and according to Liverpool’s official website, is renowned for his box-to-box work and well-timed runs into the box which contributed to him clocking up nine goals last season.

He began the 2020/21 season similarly to how he finished last-term by scoring on numerous occasions for the young Reds throughout pre-season and was named as captain of the U18s on several occasions by Marc Bridge-Wilkinson.

Hill’s contract extension is a huge show of faith from the club and vindicates just how highly he is regarded by the Anfield hierarchy. He is currently nursing an injury which saw him require surgery on his knee and is now following a period of rehabilitation with the academy staff at Kirkby.

Hill celebrated his recent contract extension by taking to Instagram to showcase his delight upon agreeing on fresh terms with his boyhood club.

His caption read: “Proud moment for me and my family to sign a new long term contract Liverpool hard work continues and can’t wait to be back on the pitch.”

A number of Hill’s Liverpool teammates were quick to respond to the contract news including the likes of Billy Koumetio, Layton Stewart, Jake Cain, Leighton Clarkson, Fidel O’Rourke and Jack Bearne.
