Liverpool target Thiago Alcantara was in action for the Spanish national team last night.
Thiago, 29, was among Luis Enrique’s starting XI that began Spain’s inaugural Nations League match against Germany during a 1-1 stalemate in Stuttgart.
The Bayern Munich midfielder was sensational once again for his country amid growing speculation that a bid from Liverpool to sign Thiago will happen in the next few days.
Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed such reports after claiming that Bayern were preparing for a new bid from the Premier League champions while manager Jurgen Klopp is pushing for a move to happen.
Liverpool are still working to get Thiago Alcantara. Bayern are now convinced they’re gonna receive a new bid from #LFC soon. Klopp pushing again for Thiago. Manchester United only had contacts with his agent at the moment – nothing advanced between clubs. 🔴 #Liverpool #Thiago

The former Barcelona starlet has just one year remaining on his current deal at Bayern and he has informed the club that he will not be penning a new contract.
This could prompt Bayern to cash in on the Spanish international who was initially tipped to be valued in the region of £31m yet the latest reports indicate that the previous figure has been slashed to £25m.
A number of reputable journalists such as James Pearce and Melissa Reddy have claimed that it will be difficult to imagine Liverpool signing Thiago signing for the Reds unless another midfielder currently at the club were to move the other way.
Thiago played the full 90 minutes as Spain rescued a point courtesy of a 96th-minute equaliser from left-back Jose Gaya.
Thiago boasted an extremely impressive pass completion rate of 93 per cent, and unsurprisingly completed more passes than any player on the pitch (97) according to WhoScored.
He also completed two tackles, two clearances one interception and had more touches on the ball than any Germany or Spain player.
Thiago’s flair and exuberance kept his team ticking from start to finish and Spain’s dominance in possession proved deadly as it was only until the last minute of the match that Germany’s resolve was broken.
He even produced arguably the pass of the night after picking out Jesus Navas with back to goal following a beautifully pin-pointed pass to find the Sevilla captain. It can be seen below.
Look. At. This. Pass.

This was yet another encouraging performance from Thiago who featured competitively for the first time since winning the Champions League in Lisbon two weeks ago.
While it remains to be seen whether there will be any developments regarding Liverpool sanctioning a deal for the Barcelona maestro what cannot be questioned is that Thiago is among the best central midfielders in world football.
Here is a look at how Liverpool fans reacted to the performance of Thiago…
This fella in the Liverpool team would do such much damage imagine him picking out mane or salah

I can already see him pinging that ball to Alexander-Arnold who knocks it through to Salah on his first touch, who then has a clear run on goal and smashes one past the keeper, @trickytakumi
