Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara is not interested by the prospect of joining Manchester United after a move to Liverpool was deemed as his ‘only choice’, claims journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi of RMC Sport.
His only choice is #Liverpool. #Klopp and #Alcantara have already discussed. Alcantara has already prepared his arrival in England. Problem: Bayern know it and discussions with Liverpool are long. https://t.co/cxs5VNx8uD

This follows from reports from Fabrizio Romana that Liverpool are expected to submit a new bid for Thiago in the near future.
German publication Bild recently claimed that United were attempting to take advantage of Liverpool’s dallying by opening talks with the Spaniard’s agents.
Thiago, 29, has persistently been linked with a move to Anfield in the German media and it seems that Liverpool represents his best route towards a new challenge next season following Bayern’s Champions League success last month.
It has been reported that Thiago has offered his house to his teammates as he looks to make the next step towards his latest adventure which is expected to be in the Premier League.
The former Barcelona starlet has just one year remaining on his current deal at Bayern and he has informed the club that he will not be penning a new contract.
This could prompt Bayern to cash in on the Spanish international who was initially tipped to be valued in the region of £31m yet the latest reports indicate that the previous figure has been slashed to £25m.
A number of reputable journalists such as James Pearce and Melissa Reddy have claimed that it will be difficult to imagine Liverpool signing Thiago signing for the Reds unless another midfielder currently at the club were to move the other way.
Despite the concerns, a number of reports from Germany are still adamant that Liverpool are in the driving-seat to land Thiago this summer with the Reds finally braced to make a bid.
Liverpool are still working to get Thiago Alcantara. Bayern are now convinced they’re gonna receive a new bid from #LFC soon. Klopp pushing again for Thiago. Manchester United only had contacts with his agent at the moment – nothing advanced between clubs. 🔴 #Liverpool #Thiago

Transfer guru Romano recently tweeted on the matter and claimed that Jurgen Klopp himself is pushing for Thiago to become only the club’s second summer addition following the arrival of Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos.
Mixed comments from the Bayern boss
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich boss gave the greatest hint yet that Thiago could indeed be on his way to Liverpool after the European Cup-winning head coach claimed the player’s decision “has been made”.
He said: “I assume that he will leave us. I think his decision has been made”, as per The Mirror.
It is a little peculiar that Flick would look to publicly call Thiago out like this, and it could turn out to be an own goal.
