Jordan Henderson, Joel Matip and Divock Origi were all pictured training this afternoon having recovered from respective injuries.
Xherdan Shaqiri wasn’t among those photographed at Melwood although reports from The Evening Standard claim that the Switzerland international was in attendance to hand Jurgen Klopp a quadruple fitness boost just over a week from the start of Liverpool’s Premier League title defence.

Henderson, 30, and Matip, 29 have both been sidelined since sustaining respective knee and foot injuries towards the back end of the last campaign post lockdown.
Origi, 25, and Shaqiri, 28, meanwhile, have both been working hard to nurse minor injuries that were sustained during the Reds’ pre-season training camp in Austria.

While only three of the aforementioned Liverpool stars were pictured in attendance at the Melwood training complex, David Lynch of the Evening Standard confirmed that all four of Klopp’s senior players will be fit and firing in time for Liverpool’s opening match of the season against Leeds United on September 12.
Liverpool’s quadruple injury boost follows the recent return to fitness of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Harry Wilson who also missed the Reds’ tour of Austria but are both currently representing their respective countries on international duty.

Liverpool’s players appeared competitive and in good sports as preparations for the club’s upcoming title defence begin to heat up.
