Rhys Williams has signed a new long-term contract extension with Liverpool and has since showcased his delight over a new deal with a post on Instagram.
Williams, 19, spent the 2019/20 campaign on loan with Kidderminster Harriers in National League North where the teenager clocked up 26 appearances in the senior game.
Capped at England Under-18 level, Williams is renowned for his dominance in the air and his commanding physicality at the back which have seen the youngster progress from the Under-10’s set-up all the way to the first team.
He is expected to remain with Barry Lewtas and the U23s set-up this upcoming season given that both Morgan Boyes and Adam Lewis have both recently departed on loan.
Williams was also part of the Liverpool side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2019 and his efforts in the club’s first victory in the competition since 2007 saw Williams rewarded with his first professional contract in football that same season.
Following the announcement, Williams took to Instagram to share his pride following his recent extension with the club which has attracted a number of congratulatory messages from teammates such as Paul Glatzel and Billy Koumetio.
