Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has called out to Liverpool to sign Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White after being asked of the defender’s valuation from a Leeds United supporter.
Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds are desperate to sign White on a permanent deal following a hugely impressive loan spell at Elland Road but according to recent reports from Sky Sports have been forced to walk away from a deal.
Brighton will not allow White to leave the club on the cheap and are willing to flex their muscles financially regarding their valuation of the player.
According to The Daily Star, the Seagulls are holding out for at least £40 million and MacAnthony feels this is a fair price for the player.
The Peterborough chairman is a renowned Liverpool supporter despite his commitment to the League One outfit.

White enjoyed a successful loan period at Peterborough before joining Leeds United last season and MacAnthony believes he could be a perfect Jurgen Klopp player.
In today’s market & age etc; most probably defo £30 mill plus £10 mill in add ons. I’d love Liverpool to buy him if Leeds haven’t got him. https://t.co/jtxGVT7JoH

Liverpool have previously been linked with a move for White as per The Daily Star yet it is unlikely the club will make a concrete bid for the player considering his astronomical valuation.
Klopp has remained consistent that the funds just aren’t available for Liverpool to throw millions towards new recruits during the summer window.
Instead, the German manager will look towards integrating internal defensive options from the club’s academy set-up.
While Liverpool only have three senior options at centre back in the form of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip, a number of youngsters impressed during the club’s pre-season tour of Austria.
Sepp van den Berg and Ki-Jana Hoever remain credible options while 17-year-old Billy Koumetio proved himself one to watch for the future following an assured and dominant performance during the 3-0 victory against Stuttgart at the weekend.
