Liverpool defender Adam Lewis has posted on Instagram for the first time since confirming a season-long loan move to French side Amiens SC – and several of his Reds teammates have congratulated the youngster on Social Media.

Lewis, 20, seals the switch abroad for the 2020-21 campaign after recently committing his long-term future to the club following a contract extension last month.

The West Derby-born academy graduate has been with the Reds since U6 level and has progressed through every age group at the Kirkby set-up before putting pen-to-to-paper on a new deal in July.

Lewis was handed his full professional debut for Liverpool under Neil Critchley back in February during the FA Cup triumph over Shrewsbury Town at Anfield.

He featured at left-back and played the full 90 minutes as the young Reds heroically beat the League One outfit in normal time to see the club through to the fifth round of the competition while Jurgen Klopp and his senior players were away on winter break.

Considering Liverpool currently boast both of the likes of Andy Robertson and new signing Kostas Tsimikas in the left-back department, Lewis has nearly zero chance of game time at Anfield next season which makes a loan switch the most beneficial option for both parties.

Lewis will continue his development in Ligue 2 with his new club-side Amiens S who will be looking for a return to back the French top-flight following their relegation from Ligue 1 last season.

Amiens SC are scheduled to begin their 2020-21 campaign at home to Nancy on Saturday evening where Lewis could be handed his first-team debut.

A number of Liverpool stars have benefited in the past from showing maturity in moving abroad and learning a new culture which is something that Jurgen Klopp likes to see from his young players.

Nat Phillips impressed in Germany during a campaign which saw Stuttgart earn promotion back to the Bundesliga while Sheyi Ojo endured a loan spell with Stade Reims before earning a shot with Steven Gerrard at Rangers.

Following Lewis’ confirmed switch to France, the young defender took to Instagram to showcase his delight before earning a number of plaudits and good luck messages from his Liverpool teammates including Curtis Jones and Rhian Brewster.
