Liverpool’s 2019/20 season has been quite the rollercoaster to say the least, following on from the best campaign any team has seen in the top flight – no one could have predicted the chaos that has occurred over the past few weeks.
However, this afternoon, there were revelations regarding Liverpool’s imminent title parade as the Premier League announced:
“The FA’s Rules and Regulations state that ‘the season shall terminate not later than the 1 June’ and ‘each competition shall, within the limit laid down by The FA, determine the length of its own playing season’.
“However, The FA’s Board has agreed for this limit to be extended indefinitely for the 2019/20 season in relation to Professional Football.”
Following on from reports from James Pearce, that confirmed Liverpool could lift the Premier League in a new Nike kit with the Reds’ new lucrative deal coming into effect at the end of the season – there have been further revelations regarding what the new strip could look like.
Although it has been inevitable for some time that Liverpool will, of course, rule as champions of England for the first time in 30 years, there was no predicting of the chaos that would unfold following the global health crisis that came with Covid-19.
Liverpool will have to wait five weeks until they are back in top-flight action on April 30 at the earliest.
With the announcement that will allow Liverpool to finish their season – with just two victories required to be crowned champions – there have also been leaks regarding what the Reds’ away kit could look like for the 2020/21 season
The club’s lucrative deal with Nike will ensure Liverpool’s audience has a bigger platform to purchase merchandise and items and will provide a greater income in comparison to current provider New Balance.
However, following leaked images, the response from supporters has been mixed and some have taken to Twitter to showcase their opinions on the matter.
Here are a selection of tweets from Kopites reacting to the Liverpool’s reported strip for 2020/21…
Interesting "map of Europe" concept there.
