Five of Liverpool’s fourth-round FA Cup heroes that prevailed against Shrewsbury Town at Anfield last month will not be in contention for tonight’s clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge due to UEFA Youth League commitments.

Barry Lewtas will be overseeing Liverpool U19s vital UEFA Youth League last-16 clash against Benfica that takes place this afternoon.

Harvey Elliott is the standout name that will feature in Lisbon against Benfica with the 16-year-old prodigy ruled out of the senior team’s clash with Chelsea this evening. Ki-Jana Hoever, Sepp van den Berg, Leighton Clarkson and Jake Cain have also been selected to feature in the European knockout bout.

Meanwhile, Curtis Jones and Neco Williams have both travelled with the first team to the capital with the Liverpool duo both in contention to start against Frank Lampard’s Blues.

Joe Gomez and James Milner have also both been confirmed as available after the pair missed the Reds’ 3-0 defeat at Vicarage Road on the weekend.

Club-captain Jordan Henderson and Xherdan Shaqiri remain Jurgen Klopp’s only major absentees.

The young Reds’ clash in the Portuguese capital will commence at 15:00 GMT.

Meanwhile, the senior stars will be in action at the Bridge with kick-off due to take place at 17:45 GMT.
