Chelsea’s Champions League campaign took an almighty hit as they were brutally outclassed by Bayern Munich in the last-16 first leg at Stamford Bridge – and many Liverpool supporters have reacted to the performance of wonderkid Alphonso Davies.

The Bundesliga holders followed in the footsteps of their closest German challengers RB Leipzig, who won at Tottenham at this same stage six days prior.

Bayern have enjoyed their recent trips to the English capital after the German giants inflicted a historic 7-2 home defeat on Spurs in October and a 5-1 romping at the Emirates Stadium in March 2017.

Former Arsenal star Serge Gnabry was the tormentor-in-chief once again as he flourished on his return to London. The 24-year-old former West Brom Albion loanee scored four at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and he delivered the end product for Bayern after he struck clinically twice early in the second half after being set up by the outstanding Robert Lewandowski.

Lewandowski surely snuffed out any lingering hopes Chelsea had of a comeback when he finished off another blistering attack, fed by the irresistible teenage Davies.

Chelsea’s misery was compounded by defender Marcos Alonso being sent off late on after a clash with Lewandowski with the experienced Jorginho also ruled out of the second leg when he received a yellow card for dissent – both players are ineligible for the return leg at the Allianz.

One player who stole the show, however, was left-back and young speedster Davies.

The 19-year-old powerhouse tormented Frank Lampard’s team from start-to-finish and the Canada international capped off a fine performance with an assist for Lewandowski.

Davies had made his debut for Canada aged 16 in a friendly against Curacao and is now a fully-fledged international with five goals from his 17 caps.

He joined Bayern from Vancouver Whitecaps last year and has already clocked up 29 appearances this season scoring just once whilst registering an impressive eight assists from left-back.

Following the breathtaking performance, some Liverpool supporters took to Twitter to showcase their belief that Davies is a player that Jurgen Klopp should seriously be considered as a summer transfer target.

Here are a selection of Tweets reacting to the youngster’s electrifying display at the Bridge…
