Birmingham City boss Pep Clotet has confirmed to the Birmingham Mail that his side are aware of the interest building in Jude Bellingham, amid rumours that Liverpool ‘admire’ the highly-rated youngster.
90 Minutes previously claimed that the Premier League champions-elect are leading the race for Bellingham, with Arsenal also keen.
Sky Sports also recently reported that other Premier League teams such as Manchester United were also keeping tabs on the £30m rated Championship prodigy.
Despite still being a teenager, Bellingham is already a key player for the Midland’s outfit – and he has scored four goals in 27 Championship appearances this term.
Jurgen Klopp’s recent contract extension to 2024 could force the German manager into considering younger options for Liverpool’s summer business plans with the majority of their Champions League-winning squad in the peak years of their career.
Jordan Henderson (29), Georginio Wijnaldum (29) and James Milner (33) of course won’t be around forever which could prompt Liverpool and FSG to begin planning for the latter stages of Klopp’s improved deal with the club.
Liverpool were able to convince Bellingham’s fellow countryman and international teammate, Harvey Elliott, to Anfield in the summer of 2019 after the 16-year-old joined the Reds from Fulham for an undisclosed fee [BBC Sport].
Last night Bellingham was in action for his beloved Birmingham in the Championship as the 16-year-old helped inspire a 1-0 victory over Barnsley.
Bellingham provided the match-winning assist, his second of the season. The England U17s international also created four chances, more than the rest of the Birmingham team combined during the club’s 12th league win of the season.
Supporters of Birmingham and various clubs raved about his performance on social media which should get Liverpool supporters very excited amid reported links with the midfielder…
