Liverpool defender Morgan Boyes has signed a new two-year contract with the club – and the teenager has taken to Twitter to showcase his delight.
The 18-year-old has been an ever-present figure in Neil Critchley’s U23s set-up this season as well as an integral part of the UEFA Youth League U19 team led by Barry Lewtas.
Kopites may best know the Reds youngster after Boyes made his professional debut for the European champions back in December during Liverpool’s Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat against Aston Villa.
At international level, the Liverpool youngster has been recognised by his home country Wales and has made nine appearances at U19 level.
Boyes has been with the club since pre-Academy level, before joining the Reds U11 group and progressing through the ranks at Kirkby. He is now a regular member of Jurgen Klopp’s first-team set-up at Melwood.
Following, the new deal, Boyes took to Twitter to express his delight of tying down his future with his boyhood team.
He wrote: Happy to have extended my stay with @LFC with a new contract. The hard work continues.

What RTK has to say
Naturally a left-sided defender, Boyes has showcased he has the skill and maturity to merit a lucrative new deal that will keep him at the club until 2022.
The Chester-born centre-back has drawn similarities to a young Virgil van Dijk due to his dominance in the air as well as his array of long-range passing ability.
Boyes will have a big climb if he is to get near the first-team with Klopp’s Premier League champions-elect currently boasting the best defensive set-up in Europe.
The FIFA Coach of the Year has the likes of Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip, Ki Jana Hoever and Sepp van den Berg all at his disposal which presents Boyes with the opportunity of learning from the best.
