Wijnaldum, 29, has become one of the key fundamental cog’s of Jurgen Klopp’s winning-machine of a team and the Dutchman is on course to claim his first-ever Premier League trophy.
The former Newcastle United star, who joined the club for a fee of £20m in 2016 has a current contract with the Reds that is due to expire at the end of next season and Wijnaldum remains the only regular Klopp starter whose imminent Liverpool future remains in the balance.
Despite having another excellent season and playing a pivotal role in the Premier League champions-elect’s gargantuan 16-point lead at the top of the table, Wijnaldum is still yet to agree on an extension with the club.
However, the Netherland’s international has revealed that talks over a new deal are on hold as he turns his attention on winning more silverware with the European and world champions.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, he said: “What would I like? It is difficult to say.”It depends on what the club wants and how the situation is at that time. We will see. [Anfield], it’s like home.
“I’m just focusing on bringing this season to a good end and that’s the only thing I’m thinking of.”

What RTK has to say
The prospect of Liverpool losing Wijnaludm would be unimaginable given the importance the former PSV midfielder has had on the squad in recent years.
Wijnaldum has proven to be the Reds’ ever-present ‘big-game’ player following a number of career-defining performances that have helped the club to such unprecedented success.
It was Wijnaldum who scored a magnificent brace within minutes to catapult Liverpool to one of the greatest comebacks in Champions League history following their 4-0 victory over Barcelona last season.
He has started all but one Premier League match this season – only Virgil van Dijk has started more – and has proven to be one of the most diverse players in Klopp’s armoury.
Wijnaldum is also one of the most selfless members in the Liverpool team. He is always there to sacrifice himself for his players. If the full-backs bomb on its up to Wijnaldum to inevitably provide that much-needed cover and put in that shift for his team.
