Liverpool supporters refuse to believe title is done despite another Man City slip-up

Liverpool supporters have more reason than most to be overly cautious when it comes to a Premier League title race.

Kopites have seen their team top of the league at Christmas on four separate occasions only to witness the biggest prize in England slip tantalisingly from their grasp.

However, there is a genuine mentality and belief that Jurgen Klopp’s current world-conquering squad are finally the team to end 30 years of agonising near misses on Merseyside.

The European champions are currently 13 points ahead of current league holders Manchester City having played two games less than Pep Guardiola’s champions. Liverpool have dropped just two points all season whilst the Citizens have already surrendered 21.

Their latest banana skin came once again at the hands of former Reds manager Roy Hodgson who masterminded another result at the Etihad Stadium as Fernandinho’s late own goal saw them forfeit yet another winning position.

The result means that mathematically Liverpool only require 11 wins to seal their first league title since 1990. However, despite the gargantuan lead at the top, supporters are refusing to believe anything is won just yet.

Following yet another masterstroke from Hodgson in Manchester, many Liverpool supporters took to Twitter to ensure emotions are kept on hold until the champagne is popped in May.
