Liverpool supporters have had plenty to cheer about over the previous 12 months following such unprecedented success. However, there will be few as sweet as seeing one of their brightest young talents score his first goal in professional football.
Rhian Brewster is a name that has drawn similar comparisons to the undeniable talent of former Reds heroes such as Michael Owen and Raheem Sterling when the youngster first hit the Liverpool scene. Sadly for the talented teenager, he has seen his progress plagued by numerous injury setbacks.
Two years since a career-threatening injury, the 19-year-old finally will know how it feels to see the net bulge after scoring in the professional game for the first time after firing for loan club Swansea City in a 2-1 win against Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon.
Brewster joined the Swans in an attempt to seek first-team football as well as the opportunity to reunite with England U17’s World Cup-winning manager Steve Cooper.
The 2017 U17s Golden Boot winner has made three appearances for Liverpool but was restricted to limited game time with both Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi higher in Jurgen Klopp’s hierarchy.
Following his maiden senior goal, many Liverpool supporters took to Twitter to express their delight of one of their young prodigies finally make his mark in the men’s game.

19 year old wearing 19 scores in 19th minute. Wonder what odds would have been for that as a bet?

Rhian Brewster has more goals against Wigan this season than any of Rashford, Greenwood and Martial.
He gets into that front 3 ahead of one of them.
He plays through the middle but pick whichever one you want.
