'Carol singing': James Milner uploads hilarious Instagram post following Leicester victory

Liverpool midfielder James Milner has posted a hilarious response to the Reds’ 4-0 thrashing of title rivals Leicester City.

Milner. 33, came off the bench to score with his first touch after converting from the spot yet again against the Foxes as Jurgen Klopp’s side strengthened their grip on the Premier League title moving 13 points clear at the league summit.

The European champions have already recorded 52 points from a possible 54 this season and are seven days away from going a full calendar year unbeaten in the league.

Both of Milner’s two league goals this season have come against Brendan Rodgers’ team including that 95th-minute winner from the spot back in October at Anfield.

The former Leeds United star featured for only 20 minutes at the King Power Stadium on Boxing Day after starting in Liverpool’s previous three league victories.

Following the Reds’ 17th league win of the season, Milner took to Instagram to post a hilarious response following his celebration that included Roberto Firmino demonstrating his notorious kung-fu kicking skills.

Writing on his social media channel, Milner joked: “When the Kung-fu kid is late for carol singing…”

Milner has been one of Liverpool’s most transformative signings in the modern Premier League era. After joining on a free transfer from Manchester City in 2015, the former Aston Villa star has gone on to make 202 appearances for the Reds – scoring 26 goals and registering 40 assists.

After recently committing his future to the club by extending his current contract to 2021, Milner is one of Klopp’s most trusted assets in the team. The Englishman has featured under the German head-coach more than any Liverpool player not including Roberto Firmino.

Having already featured 23 times in all competitions this campaign whilst adding the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup to his already lucrative CV, Milner looks on course to claim his second Premier League crown come May.
