Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has extended his stay with the club after signing a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2024.

The FIFA Coach of the Year has added an additional two years to his previous contract after joining the Reds back in October 2015. The 52-year-old claimed his first piece of silverware for the club in June after winning the Champions League in Madrid and most recently the UEFA Super Cup in Istanbul.

Klopp’s European champions are currently the runaway leaders in the Premier League after making their best-ever start to a league campaign – claiming 46 points from a possible 48 –  as the club look to secure a first league title since 1990.

The former Borussia Dortmund head coach is Liverpool’s fastest ever manager to reach 100 top-flight wins. His league win percentage of 63 per cent is the best in the club’s history. Whilst the team’s current unbeaten run (33) is the longest in the club’s history.

Following the news that Klopp will be extending his Anfield stay – many Liverpool supporters have taken to Twitter to express their delight over the new deal.
