Liverpool officially miss out on Dani Ceballos

Arsenal have confirmed that reported Liverpool target has joined them on loan for the season but the Spaniard is not one Jurgen Klopp will lose any sleep over.

Two weeks ago, the Daily Star reported that Jurgen Klopp didn’t want Ceballos on loan but preferred him as part of a permanent deal and that his stance could put the 22-year-old out of reach.

It seems as though that is the case with Arsenal officially unveiling the 22-year-old today.

Zidane gave his blessing to the move and he will now spend a year on loan in North London.

While Klopp may or may not have held an interest in signing the midfielder, missing out on him will not harm Liverpool’s ambition of winning silverware given the depth in midfield available to the German manager.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita barely played a part last season and while fans hate to hear it, their presence in the squad will genuinely feel like Klopp has completed a new signing.

Both players are still relatively young at 25 and 24 respectively and should push offer serious competition to Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and James Milner.

Klopp will have selection headaches weekly given the quality available to him but missing out on Ceballos, if he was interested in the first place, will not cause the 52-year-old to lose much sleep.

The only Real Madrid midfielder that Liverpool should be interested in is Isco and he has an absurd £632m release clause in his contract.
