Ryan Kent needs to work on becoming a more prolific forward if he ever wants to be a mainstay at Liverpool.
All true supporters want nothing more to see Kent, a player who came through the youth ranks at Kirkby, succeed and become a top forward for the Reds.
He has just about everything you need to make it at the top: pace, positional awareness, off the ball intelligence, an eye for a pass and the desire to work hard to improve.
These are all traits that Jurgen Klopp adores in his players but what Kent lacks is end product and if ever hopes to become a starter at Anfield, he needs to score and assist more.
Last season, Kent only managed six goals in competitive action for Steven Gerrard’s Rangers and that simply isn’t good enough if he wants to be invited to stay at Liverpool.
Klopp is known for getting the most out of a player but he can only work with what a player is capable of and Kent is yet to show that he is capable of being prolific at the highest level.
The Oldham-born forward is already 22 and the clock is ticking on his career with Liverpool.
If the winger is to prove that he has it in him to be a Liverpool player then he needs to work hard to show his ability to score very soon or it seems likely Klopp will offload him.
Gerrard is believed to be desperate to get Kent back at Ibrox but if the winger has hopes of staying at Liverpool this season or in the future, he needs to act quickly to convince Klopp.
